Moral Courage, Self-Care, and Resistance

Love this quote by my brilliant friend, Dr. Kate Thomas! In a previous life, in a very dark place professionally, I found this to be true. When you are surrounded by toxic people and a toxic culture, sometimes the best way to resist their influences is to do what you know is healthy and right for you. Sometimes that means leaving them behind. For me, it all came down to PURPOSE. After asking myself “Can I fulfill God’s purpose for me in this climate?” and answering a definite “No”, I knew the cause of my moral distress. Finding the moral courage to resist is not always easy, but it is worth it.
